Alois Kroft, a 62 year old, physics professor from Germany, became separated from a group of about 20 hikers on the Pinnacle Trail in North Lake Arrowhead on 1 October. Krost is described as an experienced hiker and hunter who was familiar with hiking in the area over the years. He was in the area attending a conference at the UCLA Conference Centre at the Lake Arrowhead Resort. He was last seen wearing a light-blue long sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans and lightweight hiking shoes. He had no other equipment. CALL TO ACTION - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED URGENTLY IN SEARCH FOR MR KROST Experienced backcountry hikers are required to help with a missing persons search for Mr Krost in the San Bernardino mountains. The search will cover a 10 square mile area facing the Mojave desert.
