EMBARGO 31, MARCH, 2020

Australian based start-up OK Away has today launched its free international travel safety app.

The Ok Away App allows family and friends to connect while travelling – via GPS-enabled mapping, itinerary updates, information sharing and travel alerts.

OK Away was born from the Missing Pages initiative; amongst the first global initiatives to assist families of missing travellers with the painful and confusing process of locating loved ones.

“With the development of mapping of technology, we have the means to know where our friends and family are – and to be notified when they fail to arrive at a destination’, said OK Away founder, Veronica Hey.

“Travel history, phone battery level, local time and alerts from incidents in their vicinity are all available safely and securely via the OK Away App.

Travellers can connect to family and friends via a secure code and share itineraries and updates, including initially Australian and UK government alerts.

“Amid the global COVID-19 response, everyone is looking for a little peace of mind and we hope OK Away can play a small part in creating a safer and better connected world.”

OK Away is available for free download in both Apple and Google stores from today. For more information visit www.okaway.co
